Starting Off Fresh

Well, I might as well tell you about me, my life and everything else.

I started this blog to document the rediscovery of myself.  Most people my age have already gone through this from being in college, or just living out there late teens early twenty's being kids.  Me, on the other hand never really had the chance, between working 50-60 hour weeks, and having been in a horrible relationship from ages 19-21.  So now I'm almost 24, have a daughter who's turning 2 in April, and live with my boyfriends family.  I figured if I don't figure out who am I now, I never will and I'll always be the awkward girl I was when I was 15.

Fashion was never my thing in high school.  I was seriously overweight, and a "metal kid"  so anything black and from hot topic would be found in my closet.  Once I started working retail,  I got an eye for fashion.  But I was drawn to the wrong things,  like a Juicy Couture bag that was ugly, overly priced, and gaudy as hell.  It was the name I was drawn to.  Not the fact that pieces like that would fit into my wardrobe, but because it had a designer label and I needed it.  Even though I had to dress up for work everyday, I could never put a good looking outfit together, I didn't understand, I never thought outside the box.  So for 3 or so years  my wardrobe consisted of a lot of black and khaki.

I moved in with my boyfriend the summer of 2008, and was pregnant about a month later.  I had left my job in a  "high fashion" store because it was to far, and started working crappy jobs (walmart, target).   Being pregnant and refusing to buy maternity clothes is how I discovered how to shop thrift stores.  Finding great deals on jeans (at the time current season Hollister jeans for $3).  Once I had my daughter (April 2009), and looked through the clothes I had realized I needed a complete style makeover.  It took quite a while because I didn't work for about a year.

8 months ago I finally got a job (after searching for 4 months straight)  at H&M.  And it was/is there were I finally have started figure out fashion.  You don't always have to match, or follow the trends.  Just wear what makes you happy, and what looks good on you.  So this blog is not only going to document my journey into my style, but also my lifestyle, because the things I do, music I listen to and personality all need to be revamped just like my wardrobe!
